Laboratory Contact

We undertake important tests for Ontario’s public health units, clinicians in primary care, hospitals, and long-term care facilities, as well as conducting reference testing for partner laboratories across the province. Clinicians and Public Health Units can contact Customer Service Centre for help with:

Public Health Ontario also undertakes testing for private drinking water system owners (e.g., well water, treated lake water, water from cisterns). Private drinking water test results are available by phone, in person or by mail.

Closed weekends and statutory holidays

Some laboratory locations are open for public well water specimen drop-off during business hours. Please refer to the Laboratory Locations below for the closest PHO laboratory drop-off locations.

These hours are subject to change around statutory holidays. Please refer to notices on our webpages for specific holiday hours.

PHO’s laboratory conducts testing seven days a week. Refer to the individual Test Information sheet for assay specific testing schedule, frequency and/or turn-around times.
