Laboratory Contact

We undertake important tests for clinicians in primary care and hospitals as well as for Ontario’s public health units. Below you will find contact information for our laboratories located across the province. Clinicians and Public Health Units can contact Customer Service for help with:

test results
specimen collection procedures
applying for autofaxing
access to medical and scientific experts for advice on test requests and results interpretation
clarify testing acceptance criteria
updating your contact information
STAT and critical specimen testing

Public Health Ontario also undertakes testing for private drinking water system owners (e.g., well water, treated lake water, water from cisterns). Private drinking water test results are available by phone, in person or by mail.

After Hours Emergencies

For public health units, clinicians in primary care, hospitals, and long-term care facilities, and partner laboratories, contact our After Hours Duty Officer at 416-605-3113 or your local PHO laboratory.

Some laboratory locations are open for public well water specimen drop-off. Please check with your local PHO laboratory (below) to confirm if samples are accepted.
