Diabetes

Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when the body is unable to sufficiently produce or use insulin, a hormone that regulates blood sugar. Diabetes can also be a temporary condition related to pregnancy. If left uncontrolled, diabetes can lead to long-term organ damage or death. Along with other chronic diseases, Type II diabetes is a health outcome related to lifestyle risk factors such as diet and physical activity.
