Seoul Virus Infection

Seoul virus is a type of hantavirus carried by Norway rats and black rats. Humans may be infected after being exposed to urine, droppings or saliva of infected rats, including contact with bedding or being bitten. In rare cases, Seoul virus can cause hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, which results in bleeding, shock and kidney failure.
