Candida auris

Candida auris (C. auris) is a fungal pathogen that is often multi-drug-resistant. C. auris is highly transmissible and can infect any body part, including the blood or a wound. C. auris often spreads in healthcare settings and is capable of causing invasive disease with high mortality rates. Persistent outbreaks in hospitals have been documented. C. auris infections can be challenging to treat and is considered an emerging global health threat.

We provide public health workers with expertise, support and resources for the prevention and control of infectious diseases.
