Cancer

Cancer is the general term for a group of over 200 related diseases. It is caused when cells in the body start to grow abnormally and spread to other parts of the body. Cancer is the leading cause of death in Canada. Lung, breast, colorectal and prostate cancer are the most common types of cancer. Risk factors include family history, exposure to certain chemicals and products, unhealthy behaviours (e.g., smoking) and age. This page contains documents and resources related to cancer.
