ON WHY PUBLIC HEALTH ONTARIO IS IMPORTANT
"As a public health practitioner for over a decade, I have seen the value of evidence synthesis and knowledge translation in improving the quality of public health programs, creating new programs to reduce health inequities, and advocating for healthier policies. As a previous Medical Officer of Health, I relied on PHO data and reports to advocate for local by-laws that would improve my community’s health through reduced smoking, vaping and waterpipe consumption. My goal at PHO is to provide health systems leaders and decision makers with the tools needed to improve health equity and the overall health of Ontarians."
