Long-Term Care Certification in Infection Prevention Exam Resources

These resources, developed in partnership with IPAC Canada, support Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Leads in long-term care (LTC) settings challenge the Long-Term Care Certification in Infection Prevention (LTC-CIP) exam and obtain certification. According to the Fixing Long-Term Care Act of 2021, all LTC IPAC Leads must be certified by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology within three years – this is the new IPAC standard for LTC homes. The Act came into effect in 2022.

The resources include nine modules consistent with the nine sections of the LTC-CIP exam, and a facilitators guide.

IPAC professionals in LTC settings planning to challenge the LTC-CIP may use these resources to prepare for their examinations or to facilitate their own study groups. IPAC Chapters can identify their own session facilitators and determine the schedule and mode of delivery that best meets their members’ needs.

To attend a facilitated session, please contact your local IPAC Canada chapter.
