Amebiasis
Amebiasis is a disease caused by the parasite Entamoeba histolytica. It is typically a travel-related disease. Amebiasis occurs worldwide, but is more common in regions with poor sanitation. It can be spread from person to person through direct contact, or by consuming contaminated food or water. Symptoms include stomach cramps, watery or bloody diarrhea and weight loss.
